The Knaves p26 by Shola Aleje Social Commentary "Any band which starts thier first ever EP with a political message always goes down well with me, it clearly shows that the bands are willing to push a boundary which isn't always welcomed with opened arms. Four quirky guys, who surface from the outskirts of London, claim that they have crafted a sound to be proud of..... and so they should be! I first saw this band a while back perform their debut gig at The Buzzard and was very impressed with an onstage persona which usually takes some bands a while to fully master. 'Paperback Man' is a weighty guitar based rock song with a very slick indie sound, which echoes Green Day circa 'American Idiot' and Nine Black Alps' recent single, 'Shot Down'. 'Destroy or Slave' is clearly a Rakes influenced track putting a firm emphasis on quirkiness and pub rock humour. With a following surely to reflect that of the others, things are definitely looking up for the devilish handosme handsome quartet. Social Commentary the Ltd edition EP is not available at record stores but can be purchased via email to: the_knaves@yahoo.co.uk and at the www.theknaves.co.uk "
